Little Fisch Books | Creative Ownership & Publishing

Through Little Fisch Books, Kate led the end-to-end creation, publication, and promotion of multiple self-published children’s books — owning the full creative and production lifecycle. What began as a creative endeavor evolved into a body of work encompassing storytelling, illustration, publishing, event planning, public speaking, and community engagement.

Kate wrote and illustrated each book while managing concept development, visual direction, printing, distribution, and retail placement — carrying ideas from early concept through physical books in the hands of readers.

Launch, Promotion & Audience Engagement

Kate planned and executed comprehensive launch and promotional efforts designed to build awareness and connection with audiences. These efforts included book launch events, classroom visits and readings, art fair participation, public speaking engagements, and hands-on art instruction for children and adults.

Select titles achieved Amazon New Release Best-Seller status within their category and were distributed through major national retailers. Promotional efforts extended beyond sales into meaningful education, mentorship, and collaboration within the creative community.

Creative Leadership & Execution

This work reflects Kate’s ability to lead independently, manage complex creative projects, and bring ideas to completion without the support structure of a larger organization. From studio illustration and painting to public-facing events and educational settings, each component required thoughtful planning, organization, and execution.

The experience reinforced a leadership approach grounded in ownership, clarity, and follow-through — demonstrating how creativity, when paired with structure and intention, creates work that resonates.

Impact Beyond Publishing

The success of these projects led to additional opportunities including public speaking, educational programming, fundraising initiatives supported through original artwork, and mentorship for other self-published authors navigating the creative and production process.

This body of work represents creative entrepreneurship in practice — where strategy, storytelling, and disciplined execution come together to deliver meaningful, real-world outcomes.
